One sunny Saturday in January, my family was at the zoo.  We walked to the hippos.  “Those hippos are fat” my mom said.  “You got that right”  I said.  I smelled the hippos.  “You need to take a bath you filthy hippo.”  The hippo was big and fat and black and it was creeping me out and my whole entire family too.  I heard the hippo fart.  I though, “Ewwwww.”  I was so excited to be there.  Then, we walked to the penguins.

I saw a little penguin.  I thought, “Oh my gosh, that is so cute.”  I smelled the water.  I said, “I just want to touch the penguin.”  I feel so happy.  I wash shaking.   I hear the water going swoooosh.

Then we walked over to the giraffes.  I felt scared to touch it.  My mom said, “touch it-touch it-touch it.”  I said, “NO, mom.”  I smelled it.  It smelled nasty.  I thought, “That giraffe is big.”  Then I walked over and I saw a big giraffe.  I was petting it.  I was frightened.  I heard it.  It was yellow and it had brown dots.

Then we walked to the monkies.  I heard it go “ooo aaa.”  It was so soft.  I petted it’s head.  It went “ooo aaa.”  Then it smelled so filthy, I said “eeewwwww, you are ugly.”  My mom said, “I would take you home if I could, monkey.”  She was just kidding.  We all laughed, “ha ha ha.”  Then we start and went over to the game room.  I said, “go go go.”  Brother said, “be quiet.”   I said, “sorry brother.”  He said, “it’s ok.”  I said, “thank you.”

Basketball Homecoming 2012

Basketball homecoming was held on January 13th. During the week, students and faculty showed their pointer spirit by participating in dress themes throughout the week. The dress themes involved were Pajama Day, Camo Day, Senior Citizen Day, Jersey Day, and of course Green & White Day. This was a fun way to participate in the spirit of homecoming.

We crowned the 2012 Basketball Homecoming Queen. After the student body voted throughout the week, Stephanie Carter received the crown of pointer royalty. Also during the pep rally, the student body got a look at the entire pointer basketball team (Varsity, JV, and 10th grade) and the pointer bowling team. The pep rally ended the usual way with everyone singing our Alma Mater.

Later that evening, the VB Pointer faced off against LR Catholic in an intense, heated, game. It was a back and forth battle that was hard fought by both sides. The final score was 52 to 48 with our Pointers taking the victory! It was an awesome moment as the final buzzer had sounded; everyone came down to the floor to celebrate. It was a great way to cap off a great Homecoming week. By Kevin Knight
