Welcome back~Rena Rockets!?

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer, I know I did! My family went on vacation to Washington,D.C. and Columbus, Ohio. We had an incredible time together and made some wonderful memories!

I am?so excited to be starting another great?year with my kiddos~what a blessing they are to me! These first few weeks have been?awesome and I can already tell it is going to be an amazing school?year!

The school district has several opportunities in store for our students to be involved in activities outside of school. Please check your child’s backpack for notes?being sent home about?the different activites being offered throughout the school year. The elementary football and basketball programs are now available?for students in the 3rd grade through 6th grade. This year, during the elementary sports programs, girls have the opportunity to participate on a cheer or dance team, as well. Also, the?VBHS Track Team?will be offering several elementary cross country track meets throughout the fall. And don’t forget about our monthly skate nights! I would like to encourage you to get your child involved in some of these after school activities to help keep them active and healthy!

I am excited to be offering swimming lessons starting mid-June. If your child needs swimming lessons or if they need to work on more advanced swimming skills, please call me at?471-5282 to schedule lessons.

The following students were?Rena’s top winners in the 3rd and 4th grade Pacer Test.

Boy Participants:? Joseph Hamby-3rd, Hayes Harris-3rd,?Caleb Christenson-4th, Merrick Beaumont-4th, Camron Brady-4th, Logan Thomas-4th

The top winners competed in the Van Buren School District Pacer Test at the VBHS indoor practice fieldhouse. The other elementary schools that competed were City Heights, Izard, Parkview, and Tate.

Tennis was awesome! We were so fortunate to have Mrs. Dee Cox, a professional tennis instructor, come to work with the students. They learned the forehand and backhand stroke, played games practicing their strokes, and some classes were able to experience what it is like to play against each other. All the students had a great time and I was very impressed with their skill level. You never know we might have a future tennis pro in our midst.
