Canned Food Drive

March 4th, 2009 by megan.raley

As you all know one of our friends lost her house in a fire last week. The family lost all of their possessions in the fire. Many community groups have worked to provide household items for the family. As a support to this family, Rena Kindergarten students are having a canned food drive to help the family restock their food pantry. If you would like to participate, please send food items to school by Friday, March 13.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeanne Gray, school counselor at

A Helping Hand…

February 26th, 2009 by megan.raley

On Wednesday of this week one of the friends in our classroom lost her house to a fire. Her and her family lost all that had and as a class we would like to do whatever we can to offer them a? helping hand during this very difficult time. The family has three children from kindergarten to sixth grade. I have posted their clothing sizes. Also any toys or books would be great as I am sure Chrissy lost whatever books and toys she had. I hope that we can do something special for this family and show how much the friends in our room mean to each other! Keep the Woody family in your thoughts and prayers!

Kindergarten girl, age 6? size 7-8 shirt and pants, size 13 wide shoes
Samantha, age 8, size 10 pants, size 10-12 shirt, and size 3 shoes
Charles, sixth grade boy, size 16 jeans, size adult medium shirt, and size 9½ adult shoes.
Mom wears: 3X in tops, 22 in pant; 10 in shoes
Dad wears XL or XXL in shirts; 36 ? 38 in pants; 12 shoes

Hip Hip Hurray It’s the 100th Day!!

January 25th, 2009 by megan.raley

The 100th day of school will be on Tuesday! I know that all of us in Kindergarten are so very excited! We have been counting down to this special day all year long! On Tuesday your child needs to come to school wearing 100 of something. This could be anything from a necklace with 100 beads, to wearing 100 stickers, to making a shirt with 100 hearts or stars on it. Get creative and have fun with it! I’m looking forward to celebrating us being 100 days smarter!

Homework Change

January 20th, 2009 by megan.raley

I seem to have gotten my Monday’s off confused on the homework calendar. The calendar shows us as having no school next Monday, but that should have been this past Monday(yesterday) If you want to wait and do this weeks Monday work next Monday that would be just fine, so you don’t have to double up one night. Sorry for the mix up!

I’m not married…yet, however this summer I got engaged and will be?saying I do in November!? I don’t have any children, unless you count my one year old golden retriever Sampson! I love what I do! There is no place else I would rather be than in Kindergarten!
