Math
Welcome Back to School.!!
? We will continue with standards based mathematics investigations like in 5th grade at Northridge, but we will use the Connected Math Program text books or CMP2.? There are 8 separate books in the CMP2 program.? We will start with the text titled, Prime Time.
? This week we will get started right away.? We will begin with Prime Time investigation 1 in CMP2.? We will investigate the relationship of factors, divisors, using most of the ?math facts (multiplication, division? et al) I encourage you to play the Factor game and the Product game with your child at home or on the CMP2 website.
Science
I love Science!? I hope you or your child will learn to love science this year as well.? We will start the year in the nature of sciences and progress into Life Sciences in the fall. In the late fall we will begin in the unit Energy Machines and Motions or Physical Sciences.? When winter is upon us we will inquire into the Earth Sciences with the unit Catastrophic Events. Finally, this spring we will finish off with more Physical Science in the unit entitled, Properties of Matter.

I am very excited to get started on this school year.?? We have our open house Tuesday August 18 at 5:15 Pm to 6:15 PM.
Mrs. Riggs will split our time with you.? 5:15 to 5:45 you will meet with your home rooom teacher.? Then from 5:45 to 6:15 you will switch.
