Ambassadors Club :
Ambassadors Club is a club consisting of Juniors and Seniors who have completed at least 6 hours of an AP Social Studies class. The purpose of this club is to promote the PreAP and AP Social Studies Program the Van Buren School System. Students provide a mentoring system and a support system for Social Studies’ students at the High School. In addition, the students partner with the Junior Highs and Elementary schools in a variety of Social Science projects and programs.
Art Club is open to all students who have an interest and desire to study graphic art and design outside the classroom environment.

VBHS choir/glee club and trebelletes must audtion and be enrolled in the choral music program to participate.
Environmental And Spatial Technology is an advanced computer lab where students have access to industry standard software. Students work on Computer Aided Design Software, Graphic Design Software, GPS and Mapping software, Video Editing Software, Web Design Software and many others. Students run the class with their facilitator and work on community service projects that help themselves as well as others.

FCA is a student led Christain organization geared toward continued spiritual development in studnets who are interested in athletics.

Future Business Leaders of America
FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is a national non-profit organization of over 250,000 students that are interested in pursuing careers in business related fields. FBLA involves District, State and National Leadership Conferences in which students can compete in business events ranging from Accounting to Website Development. FBLA is a great academic and social experience, with the chance to put your skills to the test at the national level. You get a chance to meet new people, make new friends and enjoy yourself at locations all around the country!
Family Career and Community Leaders of America:
FCCLA is the Ultimate Leadership Experience! FCCLA is part of the Family and Consumer Sciences Education Program. This nationwide organization has approximately 220,000 members in more than 7,000 local chapters in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. It is the only in-school student organization with the family as its central focus. FCCLA is open to students through grade 12 who are taking or have taken a course in Family and Consumer Science.

This club focuses on competitive speech events and attends competitions hosted at Arkansas high schools throughout the year in correlation with the Arkansas State Communications Association. Students can compete in things such as poetry interpretation, solo acting, duet acting, prose interpretation, extemporaneous speaking, humorous and dramatic interpretation, original oratory presentation, policy debate, readers’ theatre, words and music, and improvisational acting. French club is an organization for students who have an interest in the French language and French culture. Open to all students.

Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps:
JROTC is a student military leadership training organization. Students participate in a wide range of military oriented training activities.
Mu Alpha Theta is the math student honor society. Membership is exclusive and students must meet a minimum GPA of 3.50 to participate.
National Honor Society is an exclusive honor club. Members must meet a minimum GPA of 3.75 and apply and be accepted into the club by the NHS selection committee.

We work with the teachers and athletes of the Special Olympics events in which our VBSD special needs students participate. Our club assists, escorts, and trains athletes for Special Olympic events such as Power Lifting, Track and Field, Basketball, and Volleyball.
Students Against Destructive Decisions:
SADD is a student organization which promotes student abstinence from the use of drugs and alcohol. It also promotes positive life choices by students in other areas. Membership is open to all students.

The VBHS quiz bowl team meets during encore, after school, or before school for the purpose of preparing for interscholastic quiz bowl competition. Students must try out for the team. Membership is by try-out and acceptance.
